 PRINCIPALS’ REPORT

Monday was a great way to celebrate all of the wonderful learning that has taken place in performing arts this term with a wonderful whole school flash mob at assembly. Our new focus on dance and drama on top of the music focus has added that extra element of fun to the learning. I can’t wait to see what is in stall for term 3.

Public Holiday and Professional Practice Day

Don’t forget that Monday the 12th of June is the Kings Birthday public holiday. We also determined at school council last year that our whole staff professional practice day would follow the public holiday, allowing families to have a mini break during the term. I hope that it gives our students the time to relax after a very solid term of learning. It also gives our staff great opportunities to undertake some additional collaborative learning and continue to make improvements to the programs that we undertake here at RGLPS. On this day, teachers will plan and prepare for term 3, spend time moderating student tasks and have an opportunity to book excursions and events for term 3.

Semester 1 2023 Reports

Reports will be released to parents on Wednesday 21st June 2023. Parents will have an opportunity to discuss these with their child’s teacher/s at Three Way Conferences in early Term Three. Further information about Three Way Conferences will be released shortly.

2023 Book Week

RGLPS will be celebrating Book Week with a ‘Book Character Parade Assembly’ next term. Students will be invited to dress as their favourite character at on Monday 21st of August at 9am. This year’s theme is ‘Read, Grow, Inspire.’ We encourage parents/carers to save this date so they can attend and join in the Book Week celebrations at RGLPS.

State School Relief 'Donate a Dollar Day' - Tuesday 20th Junee

State Schools Relief (SSR) do incredible work across our public schools and right now they need everyone’s help. SSR provides practical, tangible assistance directly to Victorian students who are in need by supplying them with items such as brand-new school uniform items, footwear, undergarments, and a host of other essential educational resources.

RGLPS will be having are having a Free Dress “Donate a Dollar” Day on Tuesday 20th June. All funds will be donated to SSR and will go towards ensuring that every young person in Victoria is able to participate with the same pride and dignity as their peers.

Please join us in supporting this worthy cause.

Let's Keep Everyone Safe on Neighbourhood Roads

The Banyule City Council has been busy patrolling the neighbouring streets lately. Please be mindful of the parking restrictions and assist us to keep the roads safe for our children to cross. I also wanted to take a little time to remind everyone to use the crossing to cross the street. We do have a number of families accessing this council service and modelling great behaviours to our students. Remember that we have many friendly crossing guards assisting with directions. I personally learnt some crossing etiquette yesterday that I wasn’t aware of, so it is nice to have the experts share that knowledge with us.

Take care,

‘BETTER WHEN I’M DANCING’

Shrieks of excitement and enthusiasm buzzed at Rosanna Golf Link’s assembly. Our stage the school grounds and our eager audience waited with anticipation. The minute the music played, students proudly performed in front of the school community and the magic of dance came alive. It was delightful to hear the laughter, joy and be part of the positive vibe. I wish to congratulate all students for taking the challenge, committing and actively being part of the creative team. Dancing is positively a natural mood booster and makes us feel happy. This event was definitely a joyous occasion and an inspiring memory for you all. I am so proud of all the students.

We are also grateful for Nicole Scgulch’s photography.
